Overview
ShipMilestone is a SaaS platform that streamlines the entire freight lifecycle — from load posting and carrier bidding to real-time trip tracking and proof-of-delivery. It serves multiple stakeholder groups including customers, carriers, drivers, dispatchers, and brokers through role-based portals with tailored workflows.
The Challenge
The freight industry runs on phone calls, emails, and fragmented tools. Dispatchers manage loads across spreadsheets, drivers have no real-time updates, and customers can't track their shipments. The goal was to build a unified platform that connects every party in the transportation chain with real-time visibility and automation.
My Role
- Built the full-stack platform using Laravel with multi-portal architecture
- Designed and implemented real-time load tracking and trip monitoring systems
- Developed the bidding engine for freight allocation between carriers
- Built dispatch tools including call evaluation, driver recruitment, and payroll processing
- Created the customer-facing portal with quote requests, shipment tracking, and feedback
- Implemented document management for proof-of-delivery uploads and invoice factoring
- Integrated real-time chat and messaging between all platform users
